7-day Wild Atlantic Way Tour
Walk With Me’s Wild Atlantic Way Tour is a 7 day private guided motor tour of Ireland’s renowned scenic coastal driving route. This tour concentrates on the Counties of Kerry, Cork, Clare and Galway that form part of this iconic scenic driving route that is the Wild Atlantic Way.
The itinerary allows you to start this Tour in Killarney or at any other location in Ireland including the International Airports at Shannon, Dublin, or Cork.
Day 1
Collection at your hotel of choice in Killarney or Walk With Me will collect you at any other location in Ireland including the International Airports at Shannon, Dublin or Cork and transfer you to your hotel. En route to Killarney we will visit Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, the picturesque village of Adare, and arrive in Killarney to tour the Highlights of Killarney before checking in to your hotel of choice. The Highlights of Killarney include Muckross House & Gardens, Torc Waterfall, Ross Castle, The Lakes of Killarney including Killarney National Park, St. Mary’s Cathedral and the town of Killarney which is considered the premier visitor location in Ireland.

Day 2 – Ring of Kerry Tour
The Ring of Kerry is one of Ireland’s best known attractions on the South West of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way and take you on a journey of dramatic sea views, sheer cliffs and ever changing skies. Rural sheep farming is a way of life here, carried on in green fields and valleys divided by ancient stone walls.
Your tour will travel through quaint villages and towns dotted along the coastal route with their old world pubs, restaurants and craft centres. You will visit the birthplace of Daniel O’Connell, The Liberator and his ancestral home at Derrynane House. The area is surrounded by Ireland’s highest mountain ranges reaching down to the wild Atlantic Ocean and perched on the very edge of the Continent of Europe.
You will drive through Killarney’s National Park, with its world renowned scenic locations such as Molls Gap and Torc Waterfall and home to Ireland’s only surviving herd of native Red Deer and the recently reintroduced rare White Tailed Sea Eagles. The tour will conclude with a visit to Killarney’s Muckross House and Gardens.

Day 3 – The Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head Tour
This private tour will visit the Dingle Peninsula taking in Inch Beach, the scenic driving route of Slea Head with its magnificent views of the Great Blasket Islands, the wild Atlantic Ocean and ancient Beehive Huts. Also visits to the Blasket Centre, Louis Mulcahy Pottery, Kilmakedar Church and Monastic Site.
The tour will also stop in the world renowned quaint fishing town of Dingle visiting art and craft shops on Green Street, local eateries, a visit to Dick Mack’s famous old world pub, and a walk through it’s busy fishing port and marina.
The tour will visit the village of Annascaul, birthplace of Tom Crean, Antarctic Explorer who was a member of three of the four major British expeditions to Antarctica during the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration including Robert Scott’s 1911-13 Tera Nova Expedition which saw the race to reach the South Pole lost to Roald Amundsen. We will visit Tom Crean’s burial place and also the South Pole Inn where he spent the remainder of his life until his death in 1938.

Day 4 – Blarney Castle, Cork City & Kinsale Tour
Cork City, which is Ireland’s second largest city, is rich in history and tradition with a unique blend of contemporary style and old world charm. Pedestrian laneways, narrow streets, small boutiques, galleries, gourmet food shops and a host of interesting pubs fan out across the city.
Your private tour will start with an early morning visit to Blarney Castle and Woolen Mills where you will have the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone and be bestowed with the “Gift of Eloquence”.
We will drive into Cork City to the English Market where Queen Elizabeth 11 paid a visit during her Royal Visit to Ireland in 2011. You will have lunch in one of the famous Cork pubs on Cornmarket Street, The Bodega or the Cornmarket Bar. Your tour will also include a visit to St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral in the heart of Cork City and built on a site where St. Fin Barre founded his first monastic site and church during the 7th century.
You will visit the 17th century Charles Fort which overlooks Kinsale and was built to protect Kinsale from invasions such as The Spanish Armada of 1601, led by Don Juan Del Aquila which entered the harbour unopposed and together with Irish forces eventually fought a famous battle with the English which would change forever the historical landscape of Ireland and heralded the end to the ancient Irish way of life and old Gaelic order.
You will visit Ringfinnan Memorial Garden dedicated to Father Mychal Judge and the 343 firefighters who died in the Twin Towers of The World Trade Centre.
Your tour will provide you with time to stroll and browse through the narrow streets and numerous craft shops of Kinsale and enjoy lunch before returning to Killarney.

Day 5 – Cliffs of Moher & Burren National Park Tour
This private motor tour leaves Killarney and takes you on a scenic drive through County Kerry to the car ferry crossing of the River Shannon estuary to County Clare. One hour later finds you at the Cliffs of Moher, the most famous and spectacular sea cliffs in Europe.
On the way to the Cliffs you will pass through the villages and towns of Kilrush, Quilty and Milltown Malbay before you have a brief stop in the seaside town of Lahinch, famous for its golf course and surfing. Near the Cliffs you will enter the village of Liscannor, birthplace of John Philip Holland, inventor of the submarine. The Cliffs of Moher are spectacular, rising 720 feet above sea level and offering stunning views of The Aran Islands.
Lunch will be in Doolin Village which is regarded as the spiritual home of Traditional Irish Music. You will pass through the karst limestone landscape of The Burren National Park visiting the 13th Century Cistercian Abbey at Corcomroe, The Burren Perfumery and the Neolithic Poulnabrone portal tomb on the way to your overnight stay in Galway city.

Day 6 – Galway & Connemara Tour
The 12th century City of Galway, on the banks of the River Corrib and the gateway to Connemara is an ideal starting point to this private tour along the West of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way.
You will travel through the picturesque towns of Moycullen and Oughterard, stop at John Ford’s Quiet Man Bridge before arriving at Maam Cross in the heart of the Maumturk Mountains. You will continue to the market town of Clifden, capital town of Connemara and on to Derrygimlagh Bog where the aviators Alcock and Brown were forced to land after making the first non-stop east to west transatlantic flight in 1919. This stretch of Atlantic coast through Ballyconneely and Roundstone has to be the most scenic in all of Ireland.
You will also visit the Benedictine Monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of Kylemore Castle in Connemara, Co. Galway. The Abbey was founded for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in World War 1. It is set amongst Victorian walled gardens in a stunning location on the shores of Kylemore Lake. We will return to Galway city via the scenic Lough Inagh drive through the Twelve Bens & Maum Turk Mountain ranges.
