Dingle Peninsula & Slea Head Tour
Once described by National Geographic as ‘the most beautiful place on earth’ and voted among the top 100 destinations in the world by Trip Advisor, Dingle and the Dingle Peninsula is both wild and mountainous, mystical and desolate.
This is a place of stones with the remains of pre-Christian and early Christian settlements plus evidence of Early Irish and later day Romanesque featured churches and dwellings.
Walk With Me offer this classic private motor tour of the iconic Dingle Peninsula that includes Inch Beach that featured in the David Lean film Ryan’s Daughter, the scenic driving route of Slea Head with its magnificent views of the Great Blasket Islands and the wild Atlantic Ocean.
Continuing on to Slea Head taking in the landscape and ruggedness of the rocky outcrops and cliffs, the hills and mountains with ancient Beehive Huts and the remains of stone-walled Ring Fort at Dunbeg dating from the Early Christian Period.
Your tour will call to The Blasket Islands Centre which overlooks the six Islands and celebrates the story of The Blasket Islanders, the unique literary achievements of the Island writers, their native language, culture and tradition.
We will visit to the Louis Mulcahy Pottery Centre where you will find the best Irish hand-made pottery and weaving, including woven scarves, throws and wall hangings.
The tour will also stop in the world renowned quaint fishing town of Dingle visiting art and craft shops on Green Street, local eateries, a visit to Dick Mack’s famous old world pub, and a walk through it’s busy fishing port and marina.
