Rural sheep farming is a way of life on The Ring of Kerry, carried on in green fields and valleys divided by ancient stone walls. The tour will offer you an opportunity to observe a local sheep farmer Brendan Ferris at work with his Border Collie dogs and sheep at his Kells farmland. You will also visit the ancient 8th century stone forts at Cahergal and Lenacalabuile on the outskirts of Caherciveen, the main town on The Ring of Kerry.
Your tour will travel through quaint villages and towns dotted along the coastal route with their old world pubs, restaurants and craft centers. You will visit the Artist Retreat at Cill Rialaig Village, and the ancient ruin of Ballinskelligs Priory founded in the 12th Century. The area is surrounded by Ireland’s highest mountain ranges reaching down to the wild Atlantic Ocean and perched on the very edge of the Continent of Europe.
