Walk With Me Day Tours Spring 2018

Ray and Mary at Walk With Me Tours wish all their clients, both past and present, a great New Year in 2018.The cold and bleak dark days of winter are slowly receding with the first signs of spring. Here in Killarney in the very south westerly point of Ireland and Europe, the very first green shoots of daffodils and snowdrops are forcing their way above ground, heralding a return to longer days and the approach of summer.

Ray and Mary have been busy over the winter and they recently took ownership of their new luxury Ford Tourneo Custom touring van that is fresh off the assembly line. It is a customized 7 seater touring van specifically designed for their travel and passenger tour guiding business.

The van is air-conditioned, has leather upholstery throughout and is kitted out with all the modern specifications to ensure complete comfort during your touring experience when on vacation in Ireland with Ray and Mary at Walk With Me. Their new acquisition compliments Mary’s luxury Mercedes Benz car that is ideal for the solo traveler or smaller groups of 4 people or less.

Following the recent release of the Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi featuring some stunning scenery from it’s filming location on the remote island of Skellig Michael, Walk With Me have been exceptionally busy dealing with many enquiries by future travelers to make the trip to Kerry and visit Skellig Michael, a UNESCO World Heritage site and a truly unique experience perched on the very edge of the continent of Europe.

Indeed, the whole experience of incorporating the visit to Skellig Michael with the more expansive touring opportunity of driving The Skellig Ring with Ray and Mary is rapidly becoming the standout and most popular “off the beaten path” day tour offered and available in the entire South West of Ireland.

The 385 million year old Tetrapod Trackway on Valentia Island, a visit to the Holy Wells of Saint Brendan and Saint Finian, the breath taking views from the increasingly popular Kerry Cliffs site, a visit to The Skelligs Chocolate Factory and the Famine Village at Cill Rialaigh are but a few of the attractions that have catapulted The Skellig Ring to a new level as one of the world’s greatest one day tours. It is generally accepted in tourism circles that The Kerry Cliffs are fast becoming the premier cliff viewing attraction and may in time surpass The Cliffs of Moher in their splendor and appeal to visitors.

Both Ray and Mary continue to offer excellent other touring opportunities and have been guiding extensively in Connemara, The Burren, The Beara Peninsula, Glendalough, Dingle, The Ring of Kerry and many more less well known but equally appealing routes throughout Ireland and especially concentrated on The Wild Atlantic Way.

Ray is also a keen golfer and is ideally positioned to offer golfing itineraries in the South West of Ireland, and is widely experienced in providing such tours over the past number of years. He can advise you on the best courses to play and has a great knowledge of some hidden gems that are not so well known, but equally challenging and rewarding.

So dust yourself down, shake off the last of winter, grab your passport, hiking boots and make tracks for one of the last great frontiers on the very edge of Europe. Send us an enquiry or look us up on Tripadvisor. Whether you want to hike, bike, trek or hit the fairways, all is possible.
